Street Parking Sheds
Modeled after NYC's Open Restaurant Program, Carbon Zero City proposes to implement shed-style structures for adaptable street parking, enhancing functionality and aesthetics of vehicle spaces. Regulations would be tight.

Taxpayer Parking Lots
These lots generate parking revenue to help offset property taxes. Key locations include Gotham Parking on Gold Street and Icon Parking near Cliff Street, among others. Use of these spaces as exhibits could become permanent.

Alleyways and Narrow Streets
These underutilized spaces in FiDi can be revitalized for unique uses. Historical sites include William Colgate's original soap shop on Dutch Street, with others like Liberty Place and Theater Alley.

Under the FDR
This area, stretching from Whitehall Terminal to Brooklyn Bridge, is suitable for temporary structures and public amenities as part of the Lower Manhattan Coastal Resiliency project, enhancing flood protection and public space.

Public Spaces (some interior)
Historical public spaces in FiDi could be venues for privately funded installations. Noteworthy locations include Golden Hill Plaza, site of the first battle of the American Revolutionary War, and Louise Nevelson Plaza.

Privately Owned Public Spaces (POPS)
These are spaces like plazas and arcades offered by developers for zoning advantages. They are publicly accessible but privately maintained. Notable POPS include locations at 59 Maiden Lane and 15 Cliff Street.

Indoor Spaces for Exhibits

FiDi has the highest office vacancies in Manhattan. Carbon Zero is proposing to use this space for both permanent and temporary exhibits highlighting in particular various solutions. These exhibits will attract tourists, business, government, and academic visitors.

Large Facilities
Winter Garden (Brookfield), Oculus (Westfield), Pier 17 (Hughes Corporation), Fulton Center (Westfield), and the American Stock Exchange building (in redevelopment) could host temporary exhibits to drive retail demand.
